Below you find the recommended configuration for Wi-Fi (WiFi / Wireless / WLAN) and VPN (Virtual Private Network) for members of the D-MATH. Wi-Fi General information The following settings are valid for all members of D-MATH (incl. PhD-Students). The username to be used is: < your-eth-username>@math-guest.ethz.ch. The Wi-Fi SSIDs to be used are eduroam , eth or eth-5. You have to use the Wi-Fi/VPN password and not the LDAP or Active Directory (AD) password. When you get the following pop-up window about 802.1X, after you logged in or connected your network cable mac_802_1X_popup open the network preferences: mac_802_1X_network_preferences_1 click on the “Advanced…” button: mac_802_1X_network_preferences_2 select the “802.1X”-tab (1), uncheck the “Enable automatic connection” (2) and click on the “OK”-button (3): mac_802_1X_network_preferences_3 and the last step: confirm your changes by clicking on the “Apply”-button. Then unplug and replug the network cable.
